This may be slightly off topic, but my sister has had this POS Davis derringer in .22LR for 30 years as her SD weapon. No matter what I said, it was OK in her opinion.

A month ago, when she was home from OKC I took her to my little berm in the back yard and let her shoot a selection of pistols.

I think I've unleashed a monster. :o

In that month since she was here, she has bought an M&P 9c in 9mm, from our sponsor Sooner state Pawn, and tonight bought a tangfolio from the same store in .380. Its hard to beat their prices.

Has already signed up for a CC class, and will be home this weekend with a friend of hers that is signed up for the same CC class for some serious range time to become familiar with the platforms. (She used to hunt with me using shotguns, so is not a newb to firearms).

Her friend (female) has never had a gun in her hand, so Its going to be a weekend of fun. Looking forward to it.
If you want to go all out on them I can bring up a Garand and M1A. Lets get them into some heavy iron! :D

LOL, there will be an AR out there for sure.

I took some friends shooting the other day that had never shot a gun. I started them with my .22 and moved up from there. They were all scared of the AR and totally acting like girls. One of them mustered up the courage to shoot it and immediately said "that was awesome!!!" They all ended up shooting it and loved it. Now they want to know when we can go again! Lol

Agree'd.
My sister has never shot an AR.
After a 12 ga it will be a walk in the park.
Never thought she would go as far as she is going after all of these years of me pounding on her to get some home defense, but age brings additional wisdom I guess.

I have never had anyone that I took to a gun range come out without a big smile. I have experienced those that did have a big smile revert to anti gunning in front of their peers.

So today at the gun show, I was looking at an AR (I want a new hand guard so I was scoping them out). The salesman came over and said very slowly, since obviously I am a retard since I am a girl and need to be spoken to very slowly......."That is called an A-R fif-teen. It is a rifle. You can touch it, it won't bite." I picked it up, opened the bolt, checked the chamber, released the bolt, shouldered it, and then handed it back to him and said slowly "here is your A-R fif-teen back" and turned around and walked off. He said "oh" and the two other guys shopping at that booth about died laughing.
