My #1 pet peeve is the image that MOST (I say most because I understand that you guys are probably not the big offenders of this) men have of women shooting guns. This pic is what a lot of men think of women and guns. I see it every time I go to the range and I walk in and get eye rolls like I have no clue what I'm doing. I never claimed to be an expert, but I have probably put more energy into learning proper techniques and fundamentals than my male counterparts at the range. Even when someone finds out I like to shoot competitively, I do not get taken seriously. It makes me want to go show up these guys that have no clue. The ones that posted this pic told me last night at work "you can't shoot, you're a chick. Chicks can't handle guns". I just walked off. I just hate to be not taken seriously in something that I really enjoy and take seriously myself. There are very few outlets that portray women handling guns safely and seriously. I can be sexy when I want to be, but at the gun range I'd like to be seen for more than my sex appeal!

I've shot 3 gun with women that are absolutely deadly.... But that is a nice pic!
 
One of the cops that works with me always said chicks can't shoot. One of my coworkers finally told him to challenge me so he did. We went to the range and I beat him like 164 to 147! He got mad and said it was the difference in our guns, so we repeated the challenge both using his gun and I beat him again. You could have cut the silence with a knife! :triniti:

I know, I know, it is a hot pic. And the pic itself wouldn't bother me if it wasn't for the thought process that all women are good for at a gun range is bending over! Maybe I should go dressed like that and then out shoot the guys there. That would be funny! We went one Valentines Day to shoot (who has a cool wife? I'd rather go shoot than go to a chick flick sappy movie) before dinner. Since we were going out, I was in a little black dress and high heel boots. I ended up having to show the guy in the next lane how to operate his gun! My husband couldn't stop laughing that there I was in a little black dress giving a dude a lesson on his new gun. It was funny.
 
Jennifer, don't try to change the subject. Besides I thought your #1 pet peeve was gun store clerks that ignored you and not your husband. Get your pet peeves straight! :)
