For the last few years, I have watched many Obama supporters point out that there has been no real attempt to ban firearms in this country, and in fact, gun rights have been expanded under his term (ala the national parks deal). There has been no shortage of contempt toward pro-2A folks, and some of the loudest pundits have labeled us as paranoid, racist, and all sorts of other less desireable names.

Then, last Thursday, Eric Holder said the following in front of congress:

This administration has consistently favored the reinstitution of the assault weapons ban. It is something that we think was useful in the past with regard to the reduction that we?ve seen in crime, and certainly would have a positive impact on our relationship and the crime situation in Mexico.

Perhaps this is nothing that anyone here didn't know, but I personally thought it was nice that someone finally admitted it on the record.

Ummm, I guess "Operation Fast & Furious" would be of interest to Holder, "...if only he had 'known' about it...".
Smuggling illegally purchased 'assault weapons' to Mexican crime cartels is far from reinstitution of a ban(though that was the intent), and certainly NOTuseful in reducing crime in Mexico.

Lying tool, guilty of conspiracy to commit murder in Agent Terry's and others deaths. These guys lie so much they soon believe everyone believes them, too. Attaboy to Darrell Issa(R-Calif.): http://issues.oversight.house.gov/fasta ... ring2.html

I always thought Fast & Furious was designed from the beginning to show people how US guns were being sold to Mexican cartels to be used in crime. They wanted to use this to produce a public outcry for more gun control. Of course, people weren't suppose to find out the US was backing/causing the sales!
