I won a Henry 22 LeverAction

So I won a henry 22 through a shriner raffle. I like it, and think it would make a great rifle for my daughter when she gets old enough. However I was wondering if I should try to trade it towards an octagon barrel version? I know people say the sights are better but don't really know the differences other than cost and looks. What do you guys think?

Congratulations on winning the Shriner raffle. I have a henry golden boy with octagonal barrel. I hated the sights so much I bought glass for it.

Nice rifles. I have the .22WMR model.
Yes the sights aren't great especially if you wear bifocals. I'm putting a Bushnell Trophy on mine.

Ok but is the octagonal version (the frontier is what its called I think) objectively better? I mean is worth the difference in price?

Really nice rifle. The action is so smooth and clean.

I got the basic version to use as a squirrel gun. The octagon barre adds weight so that might be a consideration for a young shooter.
