I cut on an M1 today

My dad asked me if I'd ever opened up a loading port before and if I'd like to give it a try.
I said, nope, never done it. I took mine to Mike and that's where I suggest you go as well.
He says "I know Mike can do it, I wanna see if you can"
So I respond "ok. I have a mitre saw and a case of beer. Let's give it a go"

Whatcha guys think of my first attempt?
No I didn't use a mitre saw or beer.
It was all done free hand with files. I only used the dremel to get a light polish on it.

Yeah, when I did mine I thought "Oh, NO, what did I do???" after about twenty minutes of heavy material removal. Put it back together and it wasn't nearly enough! Prob did that two more times before it was right.

Come on Matt if it starts with a capital B get in there nice and deep with that electric tool of yours.

On a serious note I sanded and reassembled at least four to five times before I was content with the depth, my sanding job looks like crap but works.

Looks really goodI Now shine it up with 600 grit sandpaper and polish it with Flitz.
