I replaced my unit about 8 years ago. It came with a 5 year parts and labor warranty and when it ran out I opted to go with the bi-annual inspection to keep it running properly. The previous unit had been in place for 35 years and I only paid it any attention when it stopped.
I've been very satisfied with the service. It costs a little, but the service techs fix little things before they become big things.
