A hunter took down a massive Kodiak bear in Alaska using a pistol.

I have that same 10mm pistol after carrying a Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 mag for years in a chest rig when in bear country. It was heavy and hard to conceal in the national parks where it's totally legal to carry outside of the federal buildings now thanks to an Oklahoma Congressman that introduced a rider into the obamacare bill that legalized firearms in National Parks.
Karens were always asking me why I needed a gun in a national park where the animals were used to humans.
I had to remind them that several people a year are killed in the national parks and hundreds injured with wildlife attacks, mostly because of stupid people approaching the animals.
Then asked the question if a 1000 pound grizzly was charging them, who do you want by your side? A dread locked hippy or me with a firearm that is well trained in its use? Typical response is to turn and walk away. They know the answer, but won't admit it.
