I hope this gets passed. It should force recognition for all 50 states and Washington, DC. It's a step in the right direction though! :D

Just what we need. More federal laws. I can't wait.
Personally I'm fraking hoping it passes, than I can go get a Utah CCW and carry in my own fraking state...

It throws out that some states are stricter than others in the requirements for a CCW. I wonder who would get to decide which requirements stand and which would be optional. Or perhaps it will be like a driver license; You can visit for 30 days but if you live here, you must get a CCW for that state. Otherwise, I see everyone in CA skipping over to Nevada to get their CCW.

I hope someday that your state recognizes the 2A, and we won't need Federal Goberment overstepping to get in the way. My fingers are crossed :)

Residents from California, and similar may-issue states, will NOT be able to carry within their own state with a non-resident permit from another state. Only residents of other states, that have permits from the state they are a resident of, will be able to carry in may-issue states like California.

"The bill would make clear that a person cannot use this federal grant of reciprocity to carry a concealed weapon in his or her own state of residence under another state?s permit license, unless their own state?s laws permit this."

I'm torn on this one. Yes I like the idea that I can would be able to carry in GA since I travel there often. But, I pretty sure that I don't like the idea that the Fed's can also vote that away as fast as they gave it to us.

I think ALL restrictive gun laws should be judged unconstitutional and done away with.ATF should have NO regulatory powers regarding firearms or the Federal government for that matter.

I agree, it should be up to the states to determine their own path, that way the people who are affected can have final say in decisions that effect the course of their lives. An overly zealous few can ruin many a good thing for everyone else.
