I carry everywhere unless I'm walking around the block with my dogs. If i'm making a quick trip somewhere like to pick up some fast food, I'll carry a gun in a pistol bag and leave it in a car, maybe I need one of those man purses so I could feel more comfortable carrying it inside the restaurant. Sometimes I question why I carry so much, i just answer I refuse to be a victim without some chance of fighting.

I carry everywhere i go. You just cant second guess.

it's a satchel :85:

I used to eat at Katies in Guthrie when we lived up there... and often wondered how I'd escape the cross fire if some nimwit ever decide to rob the place during the breakfast rush.

Katie's is great dont get to stop in enough.

Quick thread recap....

Must buy fritos brand corn chips

Carry a german shepard
or
even better a grumpy old chihuhua

go to katie's for pancakes :08:

get a man purse/satchel :celebrate:

and
There is no "I" in jesse - never say die. :lol_hitting:

huh, so if you don't carry 24/7 you are now a sheep??? i don't understand the connection at all other than to put someone down... ..

No, you obviously don't understand what it is like to find out in the middle of the afternoon at work that your neighbor whom you've seen at work every day for the last 5 years is DEAD outside your building because he was beaten to death AFTER he gave up his wallet! And this in a "safe" area in daylight.
It was a permanent wakeup call for me that there are NO safe areas, and nobody can predict when they will need a defensive weapon, any more than they can predict what day another driver will hit their car, or when their house will catch fire.

Some places it is not possible to carry. And yes, I do say Baaa to myself when in those circumstances to remind myself I am defenceless and to be extra alert. NOT to be an unconcious sheep.

The connection is NOT to pull somebody down, but to wake them up: deciding where is "safe" is a fools game that amounts to hoping it is safe. And as one of my tactics instructors often said, "Hope is not a plan."

I like mine with Shredded sharp chedder.
If we keep on, the mod ( Burk THE HAMMER Cornelius ) will break out the ban hammer and move this to food that goes with shootin. :85:

I do agree with rod, Hope is not a plan.
However it is a personal choice. People will believe what they want.
Some people will wake up some wont.
I believe you always need to make the best will informed and educated decision you can in every walk of life. It never stops.

i guess since i don't agree with you that makes me a sheep. Now that i have admitted that, can we keep it civil and leave the verbal jabs out of the conversation. thanks

I think burk might need some FCP.

Ok to stay on topic...how many of you look around at possible alli's in case elephant dung hits the fan.
Good thought. I have always looked for possible trouble makers but not alli's.
Should be doing that. Although i do watch for others in trouble should they need help.

Although i do watch for others in trouble should they need help.

This could be a whole new thread, "helping others" Although admirable, it is a very risky proposition. The SDA addresses use of deadly force as such:

"A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force, if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony."

The problem with this is that it is difficult to know for certain who the good guy and the bad guys are. The other problem it that it place the determination of what is a forcible felony in the hands of someone likely unqualified to make that call (non-lawyer)

Let me be more clear.
In general i am ready to help those who need it and ask for it.such as...
I have a flat tire can you help me?
or
Oh god he's killing me someone save me?
It doesnt always take deadly force to stop someone. maybe your help might be calling 911 and only that, and in that course of action if they turn and threaten your life.. well there you go.

Understood.

You guys can ruin a perfectly good thread............ :banghead:

Sorry Burky boy, I'll get back on topic. Kinda.
A couple months back I was driving down the road and saw a kid (maybe 14) getting jumped by 6 other kids around the same age so I pulled over and started yanking kids off him and trying to keep them all there while my wife called the cops from the truck. Most of them scattered of course, but I was still there to stop the assault and hold down 2 of em at least.

Now back to being off topic....
<<<<< did you see my new title :85:
