I carry everywhere I go that's legal, which is really everywhere but work (Tinker).

I wish Tinker had some sort of gun check-in system. I drive 21 miles each way to and from work, there's a lot that can happen in that time. I would feel uncomfortable letting the military keep hold of my firearm, but I feel more uncomfortable driving unarmed for 40+ miles per day, which with traffic is about 1 hour on the road.
What is Tinker's policy on weapons on base in POV's.

I carry totally randomly. Sometimes I just decide to carry. I don't go the waistband approach though, I use a thing called the Kangaroo underarm holster. It is actually pretty comfortable and doesn't restrict any movement at all. The only downside is that during a sticky situation you would have to take an extra second to throw your shirt up.

The Kangaroo conceals very well with bigger guys, as do probably all CC rigs. Here is a flattering picture of some dude modeling it.

And no, it isn't a man bra thing. Well it might double as that.

With military bases you might think of a place to drop off your firearm, such as a friendly gun shop for an inspection (small nominal fee) or renting a box at a place like a UPS store (pay quarterly).

Be up front with the owner about what you are doing. You will be surprised.

Have been working at tinker last week or so as a contractor. Was told that they have a means to drop off firearms at gates. They do NOT. Have had to leave ccl firearm at home since I make random trips on base. You'd think they'd have a plan in place.

Daily Cary with a vehicle safe for work. Hardest part has been finding a comfortable holster that is easy on/off.

What holster did you end up choosing?

Still Looking for a good one. Since my EDC is a Kimber Ultra Carry, Apendix doesn't work too well. I swiped SWMBO's Desantis Top Cop(?) paddle holster since it rides much closer than my Blackhawk Serpa. I also have a no-name S.O.B. (not too good for driving and sitting), Milt Sparks Summer Special and a Bianchi IWB with retention strap. For ease on and off, the paddles and the Bianchi work well, but none would really be called tuckable. My favorite and most comfortable is the Galco Miami Classic, but it is not very easy to get in and out of discretely.

started carrying a Ruger LC9 in a versa-holster. It made the difference. It is pretty comfortable and makes it where I don't mind leaving my gun on all day, even when I get home my first thought isn't "I have to get this off!"

The only time I don't have it on me is at the office. It stays locked up in the vehicle during that time. Good part of town, bad part of town, doesn't really matter. I'm just used to having it on me, like carrying a wallet. Took a little while to feel that comfortable with it. Now I feel naked without it.
