I spend so much time on university property that there's no way I can carry legally most of the time. When I'm not on campus I'll at least have a J-frame in my coat pocket though.

Self preservation. Policy doesn't require us to carry 24/7 but allows us to do so.

Even in a school or bar or gov. building etc. (basically, the restricted zones that I can't carry in)?

What dept.?

I carry everyday whether it's IWB, OWB in a De Santis Top Cop or in may satchel, a 5.11 COVRT backpack. The COVRT is awesome, it has a padded pocket for my laptop, fuzzy pocket for my shades, and a CW pocket that I put the backup belt velcro holster in. Works just dandy when I can't dress to cover, or if I "need to have a gun with me" and can't risk a mishap. I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6!!

Here are some interesting numbers I pulled from the SDA Annual Reports for the last 10 years

Year SDA Licenses Approved
2002 8,799
2003 8,228
2004 17,637
2005 10,450
2006 9,591
2007 16,426
2008 18,510
2009 35,962
2010 27,013
TOTAL 152,616

So there COULD be at least 152,000 citizens out there carrying.

Granted there are some with licenses who don't carry (that's fine) and some probably let their license lapse. This might sound like a lot BUT the population of Oklahoma is 3,687,050

only 4% of oklahomans are licensed to carry??!! how many violent offenders are there in the state? i'll bet its a bigger number. just sayin...

after reading this thread i'm going to make sure i carry all the time. carjackers beware...

"CWs are like condoms...id rather have one and not need it , than need one and not have it."

I'd be interested to hear in what manner folks like to carry. I know I'm a fan of AIWB, but lately I've grown fond of my Maxpedition versapack. And yes, it is a purse.

kimber Ultra carry .45 in a crossbreed iwb. just picked up a ruger LCR .357 for my wife for her purse (she'll shoot .38 special +P, .357 is uncomfortable for her to shoot)

Oh, and its a European man bag.

I carry everywhere I go that's legal, which is really everywhere but work (Tinker).

I wish Tinker had some sort of gun check-in system. I drive 21 miles each way to and from work, there's a lot that can happen in that time. I would feel uncomfortable letting the military keep hold of my firearm, but I feel more uncomfortable driving unarmed for 40+ miles per day, which with traffic is about 1 hour on the road.
