How durable is Cerakote? I've got a Browning Hi-power 88MKII that I want to carry. The MKII is parkerized and not much of a looker. Since buying it new in 1988, it's gotten some wear, though I've never carried it. Just how tough/durable is a Cerakote finish?

It's pretty great unless you draw from a holster a lot. It will rub right through to the metal after a few hundred draws.

Was wondering this myself after getting my Glock slide coated. I use a race holster so I won't have to worry about holster wear.

more durable than krylon, less durable than hard chrome
Hmmmmm. Not really what I wanted to hear.

Not good! I do that in one session!

Don't know anything about Black Nitride. Is it more durable than what has already been mentioned?

My carry gun has cerakote on the slide. You can definitely see the hot spots of holster wear.

Well, I've been searching the Internet for those who do Black Nitride coating and the list is lengthy, to say the least. Who do most of you recommend and trust for the chore?

Well, I'm completely involved in a bunch of tequila and I really don't know where I'm going with this.
