How do YOU install a gas block on an AR15?

I recently mounted my new KEIS adjustable gas block on two different rifles. Both times the rifle was not getting enough gas with the gas adjustment screw all the way out. Here is my install procedure.

Push the gas block and tube all the way back to the ridge that stops the block.
Put a foam ear plug in the chamber to force air to travel down gas tube.
Blow down muzzle end of barrel while rotating gas block side-to-side while listening for the most air flow through the gas tube.
Once I find the sweet spot I tighten one set screw.
I then loctite the second set screw and install it.
With one set screw installed with loctite I remove the first set screw add some loctite and reinstall it.

Done deal! What could I be doing wrong? This procedure has worked with my PRI block I installed. Is there need for the gas block to be further towards the muzzle end of the gun instead of being up tight against the step on the barrel?

Have you checked the gas tube for cracks?
Do you have any kind thread sealer or loc-tite on the adj. screw?

I didn't check the tubes as both wsere new. One was rifle length and one mid length so likely not two bad ones.

I didn't apply any loctite to the screw yet. I was working on getting the gas set right which obviously never happened.

I'd just look for places gas might be escaping from the block or tube.
Also, We can compare it to one from my inventory if you want.

Everything sounds good to me. I've had some gas blocks work fine butted up against the contour. Some did not.

YHM's are very similar to the Keis, just not adjustable.
