Have you seen these yet? Looks like I need to find some new friends with helicopters and hog problems...

Lots of public hunting areas around have huge hog populations. They are primarily nocturnal, however, if you have enough body's, a good old fashioned hawg drive can be a lot of quick fun.

I know several helicopter operators if you guys want to split fuel costs!!!

In!!! I might be able to get some customers and some of our business $ to make a helicopter pig shoot happen. Can somebody seriously check into the costs? Some of my old oil field buddies have deep expense accounts and they can definitely do something like this.

Is that even legal? Seems to me it would be like hunting out of a pickup.

If you really want to get in on a group hunt you could call Neeley or Mason at the Chain Ranch west of Canton. I've heard it's decently cheap. The only reason I haven't went with them is that my cousin has land in the same area and I go with him and hunt for free. I had plans last year to go on an archery hog hunt at Chain and backed out and wish I didn't. Ended up that Randy Couture was there the same time I would have went.

It's worse than shooting out of a pick-up because It can be very dangerous. Not to mention expensive. Chopper time is not cheap.

It is exciting though.

In NZ shooting from a helicopter is legal and often done. Most of the culling of animals is done this way. There's one thing there is'nt alot of in NZ these days; old pilots. Most eventually die in the process if they keep at it very long.

back to the original post - +1 on the invite for some hog hunting *non aerial or vehicle*

I really need to get my feet wet, I've been meaning to for too long, but it's hard to find someone to go out with.

Let me modify the statement of request - Looking for a well seasoned hunter - willing to pass on his/her knowledge, focuses on safety as a top priority. In return, I would be willing to Listen! Follow Instructions! Swallow my pride and practice humility! and even field dress all game that we acquired using my knowledge from the internet and cooking experience!!

*I would prefer to carry my AK, *I can limit to 5 round magazines*, but would not be opposed to using a bolt action and possibly carrying a side arm/big knife in the event we were ambushed by a sounder of angry boar.

100 dollars per hog is just too much for me.... i mean people will let you shoot them for free, so i have a tough time paying 100 per hog..

on another note if someone does set something up, please PM me.. i would love to go..

I have been to the Chain hog hunt. It was a good time with the buddys. Hogs were slim and smart at that time. They are also in a fence. I got my first experience with a 300 whisper out there they are sweet. Shooting tracers at night with a tannerite target. In January a buddy and I went to north Texas to hunt hogs with a knife. Talk about an experience. Mine was 225 my buddys 250.
