Even though i have owned a gun for years, I'm looking into getting into shooting more often and possibly doing some competitions. This looked like a good place to start. I currently have a Taurus 85 but plan on getting a semi by the end of the year. I'm looking for competitions I can use a stock pistol in.

Good News! You can shoot that Taurus at the Heartland Carry Gun Match this Sunday. Ive shot a M85 at that match many times
 
Welcome! Come out to some matches and shoot that Taurus. You don't need an expensive competition pistol to get started in any of the shooting sports.
 
Don't hesitate to ask questions. If you need a piece of gear or even a gun to get started just ask. Everyone here is more than glad to help out a new shooter.
 
Another match you might consider is the H & H match the 2nd Sunday every month. It starts at 6:30pm and is usually over by 9. It is a little warm in the summer but still fun.
