I field stripped my Ruger SR9c tonight. Came apart seemingly normally, went back together seemingly fine. BUT... when you rack the slide, it doesn't reset the trigger. Yes, I'm a mechanism moron trying to learn more. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Is there a mag disconnect the deactivaes the trigger if no mag is inserted?

BTW: Sorry if this is a dumb question, I know nothing about that pistol.

Trade it in on an M&P or a Glock. Lol! Sorry I couldn't help myself:)

Ha ha ha, Jesse.. very funny! (Well, yeah, ok, it was hysterical).

OK, I figured it out. There is a part (pardon my lack of terminology) that gets pushed back when the slide is racked. That part was pushed down or forward and wasn't resetting. I pushed it up through the mag well and all is now reset. I'm going to take a basic armorer's class somewhere so I'm not such an idiot about this stuff.

Oh, and you don't have to have the mag in to reset the trigger on this gun. SMARTASSES! :D

Thanks for the quick replies, all.

Glad you got it fixed. We weren't trying to be smartasses (this time). That lever thing is what we were reffering to. When you put the mag in, that lever is pushed back into place. I don't have or have ever seen an SR9 but I do have a Ruger P94. It has the same thing to break it down. I've never seen it on any other brand weapon, so it must be a "Ruger thing".

I just use the mag (empty mag for correctness :D ) to push up the "thing that needs pushed up" then drop it back out

Exactly. Thanks, again.

well I am pretty sure you figured it out quicker than I did with mine.... I think I took it back apart 4 times making sure I didn't do something wrong, then figured it out...
