Hello from Stillwater!

I'm from Stillwater and JustSayWhen suggested that I join Boomer Shooter while I was at Stillwater Armory this morning. I'm just getting back to shooting after a long break. I currently have a .40 Beretta PX4 and starting an AR build. Just completed the lower and hope to have a shooter by fall. I'm interested in getting into competition. My Father-in-Law has started shooting the competitions at Heartland and I hope to join in as my schedule permits. I'm looking seriously at the S&W CORE for my comp gun, but will use the Beretta until finances (and wife) permit.

Dustin, I'm not sure right now. I want to try a few different comps and see what area I really want to focus in. I have no delusions of being the next Jesse Tischauser or Max Michel. I want to try not miss too many times and slowly get faster. If I can manage to not get last place, that's a bonus! I like a challenge.
dennishoddy, I will definitely look into it. My wife's grandmother lives in PC, so we can visit and shoot!

Sounds like a plan.

Unfortunatly we had to cancel our Saturday USPSA match, but we still have steel challenge, and the .22 rimfire fun match this month.
 
Nice to see you on here Weavo, great info here just search the forums and ask questions. And never hesitate to come into the shop for anything I will help however I can. I am glad to see more Stillwater people on here... We need to get a competition here in town!

I try to make it to the shop at least once a week, even just to look and chit chat. Lucky today getting to check out the M&P CORE and actually feel it. Yes, a competition in Stillwater would be great.

this is what I like about the shop.

I've been in there twice, and did not get any of the "gun store" attitude that comes with the ones in the big city's. Sales person was content to chat a little and show me the inventory, explaining why they didn't have some ammo, guns, etc. Its a good store to visit.
 
Well thanks guys we try. Although sometimes I might be grumpy but the guys say that is just my Jersey coming out in me, you Okies are not used to it haha. But really I like the guys I can talk competitions with.

I lived in Joisy for 6 months, while in the Army.
I know the attitude from that area.

Got me a boiga at haardy's. Its at thorty thoird and thorird avenue, you joik off.

(pretty close?) :D
