I've been poking around the forums still, enjoying catching up on things I missed before.
I do want to apologize for not fleshing out the details a bit more previously.
I'm originally from WI, I used to plink around with my dad's old .22 rifle when I was a kid and used an unknown lever action rifle of unknown caliber to chase away wild dogs and the occasional coyote on the farm I worked on as a teenager. Once I graduated high school and moved on I didn't really have the opportunity to shoot until I met my husband. I had never even handled a handgun in person until I met his Glock. Nine years later and I have my own nice little collection started. :mrgreen:

I got this after he'd cleaned my XD9 sub-compact for me.
Otherwise I have an International Harvester M1 Garand, a Remington 870 Shotgun, and my little civilian reproduction M1 Carbine. The carbine was the rifle that really got me interested in shooting again. I had been thinking I might like to go to the range and mess around with his Marlin .22 when the husband brought the carbine home from the gun show. It was really filthy and gross so he asked me to help him clean it up. I was scrubbing away at the receiver and my initials appeared from under all that grime, and that was the point at which he lost his new carbine. :mrgreen: Since then I have finished a new wood stock for it and got rid of the synthetic one it came with.
I did mention it was a small collection, didn't I?

Midnight Raver, the pertinent markers aren't very apparent through text so no worries. I felt bad for not having identified myself more thoroughly in the first place!
Unfortunately my husband works a lot and doesn't have much free time, but I do read him things. He especially appreciated the thread about campfire tales in the hunting section.
