Heartland February Match

i went to help with the R and D for this match and i will say this, i am so confident that everyone will love this match, that if you don't have fun you can kick jessie in the nuts!!! let me just say this, this will not be your usual match, it will be very unique!!
 
You guys sure this is newbie friendly zone? I want to be there but dont want to make a butt out of myself than I do normally on my own. I'm far from new to shooting but the whole moving and competition thing is a totally new concept for me.

It sounds like it's definately gonna have a different feel for me. I'll be sure to wear my cup just in case. Lol!

Every match is newbie friendly to be quite honest. The rules of firearms don't change because you have to move around. If you watch the first 15 people shoot the stage and don't feel comfortable running from shooting box to shooting box naked like Burk does you can keep your pants on and walk as slow as you like. We all root for the new shooters to do well so they come back. In fact I can guarantee that nobody will make you feel embarrassed if they do you can kick me in the nuts twice!:)

The only new shooter that has ever been embarrassed was Double Benjamin but it wasn't because of his shooting. I'll leave it at that.
 
sreak- trust me, just come to the match.. we have yet to have someone come and regret it... this was the very 1st match i ever went to. Just because there is "movement" doesn't mean it isn't newbie friendly, in fact last night when we were laying the stages out we made sure that they weren't "too hard". There will be numerous 1st time shooters and you will be fine.. the people that show up are some of the most supportive people out there and alot of people that are there have less than 5 total matches under their belt...
 
alright, sounds good guys. Now I just need to find a better holster. That is the one thing that totally sucks about being a lefty, IWB lefty holters are never convienient to find.
 
cool see you there and any holster you have will work, in fact we had one lefty that didn't even have a holster and she was still able to shoot!!

David Elderton who rubs the match makes some of the best holsters and mag pouches in the industry. He made one for my 1911 which I will be wearing at the match. It's very clean looking and my draws are fast!
 
I was with Double Benjamin last night planning the stages. Trust me, the match is always fun yet challenging. And David Elderton makes great holsters/mag pouches. He has made them for my M&P and my Glock. I'm a girl-you can trust me. :-*
 
I got a cheap nylon, but have been looking to upgrade anyway. Maybe I can just spend a few hours runnin around the city lookin for what I can find. About to go to the pawn shop to see if I can get lucky here anyway. But thanks guys, and gals.
 
Stop by H & H and look. Also Academy had some cheap Uncle Mikes kydex.

My wife is a Lefty, and we went to 6 different places for holsters;then decided to just get one made by David. We're picking up the new holster right before the match tomorrow. can't wait!!

(Dave Sevigny didn't start winning National and World titles UNTIL he switched to a KyTac! Just sayin'.......)
