This will be my first time at a range, is it best to bring your own targets or just buy what they have? I am going to head to Bass Pro to grab some earplugs and Walmart for some Federal bulk ammo and see what red dots they have that aren't too expensive. Might check out a case for my handgun and maybe a magazine holder. I would love to get a holster, but doubt I could find one that fits my gun. Anything I am missing?

I usually get the 5 target papers they have there, they sell em for 1 dollar a pop which is not too overpriced. If you have your own targets though that would be cheaper. They provide ear and eye protection for no extra charge. I usually go about once a week there myself. Have fun!

what kind of gun do you have?

just remember to keep it pointed downrange at all times; finger out of the trigger guard until on target and ready to fire; the gun is always loaded.

dont forget your eye protection. a hat is good too.

Ok, sounds good. a dollar a target isn't bad. Was thinking of going to Kinko's and printing out my own one of these days, lol. I wear glasses so I have been looking for safety glasses that fit over prescription glasses, but should be fine without a pair since I also wear a hat I guess.

If you have a printer at home, just google "free targets" or go to ammoman.com or any of the other site that will let you print off all you want at home.

I don't have a printer at home, but now have an excuse to get one. Thanks for the idea!

The best way is to get one of the poster sized targets then just tape your own targets over you're previous one unless you're way off it lasts quite a while

don't buy a holster until you have tried a couple... you don't want to drop money on a holster and then find out there is one you like better..

Just got home from Sgt. Everett's, had a great time! Went through 210 rounds of Federal bulk ammo from Walmart. It was a little warm, but all the fans really helped. Lights went out right before I was going to put holes through my last target but they got that fixed quickly. It was definitely worth the extra drive instead of going to Fun World. Three other people were there, not sure if they belong to this forum, but I was in the brown shirt if you saw me.

Sorry to quadruple post, but I guess there is a time limit on editing posts, but here are a few pics of the targets from Everett's yesterday. Forgot to bring my sight adjuster, looks like I need to bring it next time....probably going to look into painting my front sight to make it more noticeable.

i like how calm that place is versus like HandH

I have only been to Sgt Everett's, never been to another gun range. From what I hear H and H usually has waiting times? I guess that's good for business, but I don't want to wait around and cut into the short amount of time I have.

Looks like a nice range. I didn't see anything on their website as far as max distance. Do you happen to know? Thanks for the info!
