Has anybody shot a Benelli MR1?

I'm curious as to how these new Benelli AR wannabes shoot. Anybody have one?

I went hog hunting a few weeks back with a guy that had just bought one. I think they are pretty dang ugly and a little over priced but he said it shoots great and doesnt seem to care what you feed it. I shot a few rounds threw it seems pretty smooth but then again I am comparing it to my AR. Its seems no were near as caveman as the ar.

Ok I take back the over priced part he said he paid over $2500 for his and from looking at the benelli site he got ripped off.

Was the recoil similar to or more/less than an AR15?

Less but not by much. I have never thought ar's had a lot of recoil but my ar's tend to have a lot of mass behind them aka my fat butt.

That's is very interesting. I might need to pick one up and get the barrel threaded for a comp and see how it works as a 3 gun rifle.

He loves his the only complaint he has is the no adjustable stock and for hunting being able to close the stock down makes in nice for geting in and out of a truck or side by side. but for 3 gun I could see it working good. And it seems to be just as reliable as the benelli shot guns are its good to go. to give you an idea on what he put his through the night we went hunting he fell in the creek the gun got nice and muddy luckly the bolt was closed so he rinsed it off and it shot fine all night.

I looked at these at the H&H expo the other day and what I noticed was that it felt heavier and the mag release seemed way too far away to be able to reload with much quickness.
