Hand gun drills

Can anyone point me in a specific direction, provide resouces, or have and first hand recommendations on hand gun drills. I have been working on my fundmentals for a while and want to start with some more dynamic exercises. I hope to try my hand a IDPA at some point and would like to be some what competitive. Also any recommendations for a first time IDPA pistol would be welcomed too.

+1^^ you also have be in good enough condition to move off the 'X' and still be able shoot straight while 'panting'. I'm an older male with a need to improve my ability to move and still be effective. I'm planning on taking a pistol course, improving my physical conditioning and practicing moving and shooting/reloading on the move with dry fire drills and live fire drills where allowed. Many of us need this to better protect or families and ourselves. Just a thought.
