One of the guys who run the "buffalo rifle" matches had one; not sure if he still does. I'm told its a good rifle; kicks less than some models.

My first 45/70 was the Buffalo Classic. They are great rifles. The 32" barrel with insert sights is a good combination.
That got me hooked on the caliber. Later I bought the regular Handi rifle in the same caliber and found it to be about as accurate as the longer barreled one. I regularly hunt with the Handi. You can't go wrong with this caliber for all around shooting fun as well as usefulness in hunting situations. There are a lot of different bullet weights available for reloaders.
Add to all of the above that H&R(NEF) has officially ceased production and you have a potential collector's item.
Just to clarify what Bigfutz said, I do not run a shop. I work part time at Simpsonville Gun and Pawn. I got bored after being retired a few years and went to work part time there doing something I really love. Come by and make yourself known.
Hope you buy and enjoy that BC.
