Rimfire Shooting League June 2nd â€" August 25th

4C_0200_RIMFIRESHOOTINGLEAGUE.png

The idea behind our Rimfire Shooting League is to create a shooting activity that both adults and children can participate in that is low energy (no movement or holster starts), inexpensive (all rimfire firearms and ammo will be considerably less expensive than centerfire alternatives), time conscious (one course of fire a week will keep the commitment time down).

The basic course of fire will be a lot like the traditional steel challenge setting. There will be five heavy plastic plates on stands at varying distances. The participants will stand in the designated shooting position with their firearms loaded and at the low ready. At the start signal they will shoot until all 5 plates are knocked off the stands. The time will be recorded. This cycle is repeated 5 times. At the end of the 5th run the slowest time is discarded and the remaining 4 times are added up and that is the participants score.

The participants will be divided into five divisions: adult handgun, adult rifle, youth handgun and youth rifle, the last division will be manually loading rifles (pumps, lever actions, bolt actions iron sights only). The youth division will be open to anyone 12 years old and under. Any rimfire firearm will be allowed (except full auto models). Optics will be allowed in all divisions except the manual loading division.

There will be a one-time league fee of $10.00 and the cost to shoot the course of fire will be $5.00 per individual and there is no limit to the number of times a participant can run the course of fire. Everyone may shoot the first time without joining the league, to be eligible for the prize table the participant must be a league member. The course is to remain open from 10AM until 8PM on Mondays, starting on the 1st Monday in June until the last Monday in August. Participants will sign in and pay at the range counter just like renting a lane to shoot.

The Prize table will be at the end of the twelve-week league. Participants must be members of the league to qualify for the prize table. 10 NINE weeks of scores must be entered to qualify for the prize table. H&H Gift Cards will be awarded to the league leaders.

I'm just gonna bring my AR .22 to work one day each week and stop by and shoot a stage and eat a burger.

I am checking with Brandon on eligibility for the Contingency program. I am thinking that the whole match (12 weeks) should be worth 1 entry. We will see what the grand pooh-bah says

We have already had three people shoot thru the course. The first guy shot it with a bolt action ruger, it was pretty cool!

Planning to take 2 of the grandkids by there today to give it a try and see if I can talk them into doing this.

So we only have to go 10 out of 12 times?

$5 to shoot the course of fire multiple times, or $5 each time?

Total cost = $70?

I read it as $5 each time per course of fire (stage) consisting of shooting the stage 5 times and throw out the worst time, like steel challenge.

And probably $5 for each gun if you shoot rifle and pistol.

So Monday's from 10 am to 8 pm only, right? Si I couldn't show up on like a Wednesday or something and shoot it?

I just talked to Zeke to confirm. $5.00 will let you shoot the course of fire (5 strings) one time. If you crapped out or had a MALF or something and wanted to shoot it again, another $5.00 for 5 more strings. Kind of like $5.00 for every re-shoot

You only pay the league fee one time. So $70 would get you through the whole League, if you don't' want any re-shoots

Extra guns/divisions are an additional $5.00 every stage you shoot with them (same as the first gun)

Clear? Not Clear?

Zeke told me that they were keeping a bay reserved with the stage staying setup all day on Monday and a staff member would run participants as they came in.
So yes, only Monday's.

Well that sucks. Wish I would've had a couple days notice. I already made plans with the wife and kid after work today so I guess I miss out.

Yeah me too, I saw it on Facebook and didn't realize it wasn't listed here also.

GOOD NEWS: They are only using 10 of the 12 scores so you can jump in next week and still qualify for the prize table
