Does anyone else NOT go to gun shows?

I love horses and roping and always love going to tack auctions. Buying and selling. Always find bargains.

I love guns and shooting but refuse to pay $12 to go browse overpriced crap.

Am I the oddball or anyone else think the same way?

The only reason that I go to a small few is to just see how overpriced stuff is. And to also laugh at the guy trying to tell me how awesome his POS Ncstar scopes are. I've got to be really bored to go.

Haven't wasted my money on one in 10+ years, think the last time I went was when I was 21. Over priced junk there, you find better deals online and don't have to wade thru the rednecks.

HEY!!! whats that supposed to mean?

I don't go to gun shows either, if I am wanting a new gun I just hit the classifieds on here and the other site or pawn shops. I do want to go to that big show up in Tulsa once though

I have found great deals at gun shows but like anything it is a gamble. I have really good luck moving my personal items at gun shows.

The only one worth going to is Wanenmacher's Tulsa Arms Show. There is one or more of almost everything available, with really good deals on things that aren't popular in Oklahoma, like Browning Hi-Powers. It's a great show, and most of the prices are a little bit high, but instant gratification is the new American way. There was an amazing deal on an FN FS2000 last April at the show. I almost broke down and got it, but then remembered that I can't eat a gun.

I like to go to the bigger shows just to see whats around, handle guns (when its ok too) that I don't normally see locally. Sometimes You can find a good deal. And judging by the 101 "is that for sale?" questions I got from individuals as well as vendors while I walked around the huge Tulsa show with my Norinco 56s, If I felt like selling a gun in a hurry, that would be where I'd take it.

not just any gun gets 101 unsolicited offers even while you walk beside a guy with a custom build AR15 with a for sale sign sticking out of the barrel. Only the classiest guns that are confused as to whether they are museum masterpieces or communist workhorses could pull that off!

I go to the wanna spring and fall but I guess it is in a different category now. this year it is a 10 dollar show

I really wish we had some collector's association shows in this region. Those are a "different animal" that the typical "promoted" and produced shows that Metcalf and others produce in this part of the country.

The Association shows (usually produced by gun clubs or groups that have interest in certain guns) tend to have a lot of top drawer stuff... very few Beanie Babies and hardly any beef jerkey at all.........

Local gun show are for non gun guys. I did the OKC show once and won't do that again. I'd rather go shoot.
