Gun Enthusiasts Push For Open Carry Law

I support open carry in Oklahoma though once I have my CCW chances are I'll keep the gun concealed. I don't support requiring a CCW permit in order to open carry. What would be the point? If 43 other states allow OC without a permit, OK should as well. My 2¢.

I don't really understand why anyone would want to open-carry unless they were doing so in a professional role. I wouldn't want to draw that kind of attention to myself or my weapon. Also, If I'm ever in a position where I need a gun to defende myself, I'd prefer my weapon be a surprise to the other party.
There's been a fiasco or two up here in the north over open carry because they don't have concealed carry. I haven't been impressed with the way these guys have exercised their rights or voiced their opinions. One asshole even came into the cell phone store where I work and started showing off his Sig to anyone in the store who wanted to pay attention. I just don't see the point. It seems like concealed carry would be a better alternative in almost every circumstance.

I want to add that I'm not against open carry in general. I just don't see a setting in which I'd want to do it. I'm also not saying that the jackassery described above is representative of open-carry type guys in general. That idiot could have just as easily been showing off a CCW.

Even if you didn't open carry it would be nice knowing that if your gun were exposed you'd just have to cover it back up. No harm no foul. I believe under the current law if your gun becomes exposed you have broke the law. I'd probably never open carry but I do support it.
