Both are great guns and people will tell you what they like.. I shoot an mp pro 9 and 40. If you can compare the two side by side, run a stage with each one and decide which is best for you. Any of us would be willing to let you use ours sometime to do a comparison. Just let us know when.

The Glock is the most popular because its been around longer, is easy to find add ons and parts and its low bore axis makes it flip the least.
The M&P's are way sexier and more ergonomic.

Have you thought about a CZ 75?
Both are available to rent at USSA, and I would suggest shooting them side by side. Parker and I both did, and we both chose the M&P.
To CK's point, after trying his CZ, it is awesome, but those set up like you might like are hard to come by. Get one of the plastic guns, use and abuse it and then upgrade after you figure out what games you are most likely to keep playing.
