Anyone going to the TD center gun show or the PSA grand opening? I don't really "need anything". Would like to go the the gun show and just browse, its usally a decent show and a good way to kill time. PSA could be intresting too, as the radio keeps annoucing deals "to low to advertise". Mabey they could "force" me to buy some parts, cant have enough spares...Probably end up at Academy and get my two rations of "decent" priced ammo and hit sharpshooters range.

Yeah tomorrow. PSA opens at 10. Not sure time on the gun show, it is saturday and sunday. SC arms collectors show at the TD center of plesantburg.

I'll probably go look around. I can't buy anything big but I'd like to see what places have to offer. Besides a day drooling over boom-sticks is better than sitting at home any time. :)

Gun Show hours: Saturday 9-5
Sunday 10-4
I will be just looking at unusual stuff that catches my eye. Not really looking for anything in particular.

Planning on hitting the show but will probably avoid PSA since being the Grand Opening everybody and their 3rd cousin will be swarming the place looking for .22 ammo. I doubt there would be much that would tempt me to deal with the crowd and the traffic over there.

well, i didnt want to go look at sales i couldnt take advantage of.

my wife just called and told me her son Kieth and his wife went to the grand opening. he has picked up a couple of guns in the last few years and ive been trying to get him to buy or put together an AR. he said it would be too much money for one purchase, he has 3 young kids.

check this, his wife won shooting lessons valued at $500 each,x2. KIETH WON AN AR.

Got to go to PSA and I think I will hit the gun show tomorrow. PSA was pretty crowded, pretty steady flow in and out. Lots of people buying all kinds of guns :D . Big deals were: pmags for 10$ and gi mags for 7$, BCG's for 89$, Vortex strike fire for 119$, and the PSA M4 for 799$ with a free .22 omni ar, oh and lpk deals but i don't remember pricing. Lots of give aways just like tigerstripe said, they were very generous items. While i was there (30 min) they gave away 2 25$ gift cards, 1 ccw class, a 5.11 watch, and a vortex strike fire. The also announced giving away an xd at the next giveaway time but i didn't stay. Other than the big deals every thing else was retail and ammo is still high! I ended up with a couple of hats and 100 rounds of 9mm. tons of .22lr available 5$ and change for cci standard velocity and 11$ and change for 100 22.lr min mag. Also interesting, I went to academy and they have moved .223 from behind the customer service desk and back to the ammo isle, they also jacked the price from 8.99 to 12.99 (wtf).

I went to the gun show this morning. I was expecting a line but I walked right in. Plenty of guns of all types including AR-15s. Handgun ammo was in good supply. Plenty of primers but not that much powder. Pretty good show overall.

Attended the Gun Show in Greenville. Picked up ammo from Jeff, Precision One Ammo. Looked at a bunch of old and new guns. Lusted after several but maintained thanks to not stopping at the ATM. :D
It was a good show IMHO. Traffic on Woodruff was so bad we didn't stop at PSA or Academy Sports.

The PSA is quite a store. I also managed to find a single 20rd AR-10B mag at the show for my AR-10. I tried it out at the range today and it functions flawlessly. Now all I need are several more :) I just wish they didn't cost so much. I can buy several 30rd 5.56 P-Mags for my LMT for the price of a single AR-10B mag if I can even find one when I have any money. Anyway I digress. I saw a lot of stuff at the show... including a Serbian M70 (AKish) for 899. Which amazes me because back last September I bought the exact same rifle in NY for 699 and I thought prices were ridiculous then. I did enjoy talking to a lot of the people at the show. There was one gentleman with some M1's an M1 Carbine and some old surplus bolt rifles in good shape that I really wish I had the money to clear his table. As much as I love the new rifles I still have a soft spot for those old warhorses as well.

It was my first gun show in SC and really I didn't see any huge deals, which I kind of expected, but I did see a lot of selection and hey, I got my AR-10 mag so it was a great day! :)

The SCACA show is definitely the biggie around here, but is apparently still suffering from the Great Gun Rush of 2013. There are a couple of reliable vendors there, some of which are sponsors on this site. For your mags, if you can't find them online (Midway, etc.) try some of the local pawn shops and maybe even the Anderson Jockey Lot.Or post a WTB here. Happy hunting!

Went to both the PSA opening and the SCACA gun show.
PSA was a madhouse. I didn't stay long there.
SCACA show was good. Not too crowded, good selection including many AR's and AK's, many at decent prices.
Anything that says "private sale" seems to always be way overpriced...
As usual, Jeff (Precision One) was there with a good selection and good prices.
North Georgia Reloading and Georgia Arms were both there with good selections. 9mm Luger 500-round box of FMJ target loads for $125 from North Georgia, up from $100 about 18 months ago.
I picked up a 9mm carbine for a great price NIB. I had to pass over a couple of other really good deals because I hit my spending limit for the show.
Deals were there - you just had to really look for them.

Midway doesn't carry these mags at all. The only online place I have found that does besides Armalite themselves is Brownells. Oh lookie there they are in stock again... OK I just ordered a second from Brownells. Thanks for making me look, even if the wife is going to be upset with me. Cost me about the same with shipping as I paid at the show. I wish I could afford more but right now I can't especially at $45 a pop +SH. I don't need a lot of mags for this gun so I will buy what I can while I can.

I would agree. About private sales at the shows. Do they run NICS checks here on those? I did notice that the LEO presence here was a lot lower than at the big NY shows. In NY though there are no true private sales allowed at the shows. Even before January's insanity every sale even person to person had to go through a NICS check and the Sheriff's setup a booth at the show to do it. In NY pistols need to be added to your permit specifically and you cannot even own a pistol without having some level of permit (I still hold a NYS Carry permit) and that is handled by the county clerks office. They also have a booth setup at the show to do those transactions. Which is why I find it hilarious when you see politicians from NY talking about the "Gun Show Loophole" from a state where no such thing legally exists. What they are really looking to block is all private sales which they have criminalized there as of January now anyway.

I did see UAG there and I know they are supporters there. I didn't spend much time at their booth because I didn't have a lot to spend. My actual original plan wasn't to spend anything but I couldn't pass on the AR-10 mag. Their new store isn't too far from my apartment so I figure I will check them out there.

Greenville gun show was good. Got there around 10:30 sunday morning. Seems like a lot more venders than in past shows. Good prices on guns and ammo and mags are defenatly comming down. I made it priority to see jeff and pick up a couple boxes of percision one ammo (thanks for the deal jeff!) I also swung buy UAG and drooled over supressors. UAG hand a nice set up and some of the nicer arms in the show with good prices to boot.

Academy price correction

Correction: You may have been looking at the wrong stack. Academy does have the 223 in varmint tipped for $12.99 (old price if I remember correctly), but they also have the FMJ for $8.99. Both AE black box. Give 'em a break... redact that "WTF." ;) They still have 9mm and 22LR on limit 2, though.
