Couple months ago I bought a new .40 Sig p226 and absolutely love it. Great handgun and super accurate. I was at the gun show a couple weeks ago and bought a 9mm Sig p290 as a carry gun thinking it would be just as good as the p226. Turned out to be a completely different experience and hated it, so I traded it off for a Gen 4 Glock 26. I never understood why everyone was so crazy about Glock's until now. Now that I've shot one, I'm a huge Glock fan! I love the way it feels, how smooth the trigger is, and how solid it feels. Even the clips feel like they're top notch. :)

Congrats on your trade. Those little Glocks really shoot.

So what did you not like about the Sig you traded?

That p290 just felt cheap ... The slide seemed loose, the clips were hard to get to lock in to place, trigger had a long pull, and it seemed super inaccurate. I was all over the target shooting at 7 yards with that gun. With the Glock and my p226 I can set a pretty tight group at 7-10 yards. That 290 I would completely miss the silhouette. lol

Not to mention that sometimes the slide wouldn't go all the way forward when chambering a round. I just didn't feel like it was a dependable gun, which is something I want for CCW. :)

I have bought two this year myself. Sold my mp 9mm to pay for one. Glad I switched. Congrats on the new pistol.

I was kinda the same way. I resisted and resisted buying a Glock. I always shot the when I had the chance, but it felt weird. After shooting a nice G34, I gave in and thought "what the heck, if I buy a used one and hate it, I can sell it for no loss." That was... 4 years ago I think. My G19 is my daily companion now.

And I agree, the old Classic Sigs are great. I have a P228, and it's a nice gun, but Sig sure can't figure out the Polymer framed gun.

I'm actually going to be selling my only Glock soon, since I'm changing competition guns and need to pay off the new one, and will miss it sorely. Definitely planning to get two or three in the next couple years, though. It would be beneficial to keep practicing with one by playing Production.

I have to say good stuff just getting my first one now, a gen 3 17 second hand and all but you cant wear plastic guns out anyhow yippy

I had a very early G17 and hated it... Of course back then we were making a straight trade from SW 39/59 series guns, revolvers or 1911's.

Found a good deal on a G19 last fall.... It has become a regular carry and IDPA pistol for me.

Strangely enough... I still don't like 17's ( too big) and the 26/27 is too small... The 19/23 is just right.

Still planning on acquiring a M&P.... Had a XD and never warmed up to it- even though they are fine handguns in their own right.

The G19 has to be one of my all time favs. If open carry passes, It will be my full time winter carry gun and the G26 will just be for summer.

Open carry.... Ms Fallin went on public record Sat... She is signing 1733 this week!

Now I can take my coat off in to try on clothes, drive, sit in a booth or walk to the mailbox !
