Picked up this beauty yesterday - I can't wait to take her out to the range.

Dude! All that muzzle flip won't seem so bad after the first time you turn on the safety while chambering a round.

Never did that when I was shooting mine. People who don't know what they are doing might though :P

<confused look> (carried a 92 and 96 and never had this problem... ever)

I liked the 92/96 pistols. They have roots back into the 30's era Berettas. The Egyptians cloned a version of the early Beretta in the 50's.

Just a little heavy for what it is... but they were the bomb back in the 80's...
 
The 92 series is a pretty damn good gun. There are lots of haters out there, but I suspect a lot of that comes from the M9 replacing the 1911 (or mistrust of the 9mm round). Many a PPC match have been won with 92s. The slide is slicker than KY on glass and they are plenty accurate. And some guy named Stoeger does pretty well with one in USPSA as well (modified a bit, of course). .
