Well, I have enough practice on ar grips and pmags so I decided I would melt the crap out of my xd9 grip. I went with what I think looks like scales. It is pretty grippy and I have yet to test fire it.

I am not planning on doing this for others. I will only destroy my own property.

Took me about an hour. I used the wood burning kit made by Weber (i think) I picked up at Sears. The tip looks like a chisel.

Ok
did you grind it smooth before you started, or just melt into the stock surface?

I just burnt it into the existing surface. The factory texture wasn't very deep. If it was deep, I would have removed some with a dremel tool.

Have you had a chance to try it.?

Yep,
I even used it at a Vickers Handgun course in Arizona. Didn't bleed much. I smoothed the sharp points off with a nail file and it feels great

good functional pattern. well done.

Thanks Mike. I will post what I did to my g34 after I finish playing with the grip force adapter
