Not really gun related but it can be, if used properly. Google Alerts Beta

You may know that you can search a website by typing (in Google) "word to be searched" site:www.boomershooter.com

For example I want to search for vz grips at 1911 forums so I type

vz grips site:http://forums.1911forum.com

Anyway, Google Alerts will let you save this search, or any search and it continually monitors that site and emails you daily (or weekly) anytime the search yields a new result. Pretty handy if you don't want to have to go back to the site over and over looking for something.

Here is another one I have saved:

jesse tishauser site:http://www.quiltersclubofamerica.com

I started his site a couple months ago but he has yet to give me anything to finish - oh well

I don't see a bio on there yet. I also have a sponsors list, guns, gear, and ammo list, accomplishments, and two CD'ma worth of pictures that are all also on Facebook and 3 Gun Nation website. So what's up?

Today I got this email notification from Google Alerts. Clicked the link and BOOM, there was a new post about some grips for sale. Pretty cool, except they weren't VZ. Seems it searched and found the word "grips". I'll have to tweak that a little

That's the trouble with betas. They are always a little glitchy. You can also create a custom search which limits the number and types of hits you get. For example, you can weed out anything that has to do with dentures (poly-"grip") without losing pistol "grip". I love google!
