A friend had this built by a guy on the west coast over 10 years ago. When his work didn't turn out as expected, it was sent to Bob Rodgers to be corrected. Bob got it running perfectly and it's now reliable as well as being extremely accurate. Bob refit a lot of the parts, replaced a few.

This started as a very nice series 70 GCNM. It has had the following work:

-Bob Kreiger Accu-Rails
-Kart barrel
-Dlask national match magnesium trigger
-Brown ambi
-Brown grip safety
-S&A Magwell, fitted, blended and serrated
-Esmeralda cocobolo grip panels
-Front sight is a dove tail fit, undercut Patridge
-Wilson rear sight
-Belguim border cut slide
-Cylinder & Slide hammer

That looks like a good shooter. I also the the history to get it to where it is at today. Do you know who the first builder was?

I have not handled a Gold Cup in about 35 years.

I like the "Belgium Borders".

The builder that started it was not passed along to me. You would have to ask.

I'm here, you're not
The kitchen hack that did the initial work belongs to the forums and I'm not going to drag his name through the mud. I can't think of anything on the gun he didn't screw up.
Bob Rodgers was an absolute angel in taking it on and making a gun out of it. Bob Kreiger did the rails for me, he did excellent work. This was an example of a near mint 70 series that didn't fare well and was saved expertly by Bob Rodgers. I will say it's the most accurate 1911 I've ever had the pleasure to fire. Bob also told me he was quite impressed with the degree of accuracy shown.
I'm glad it has a great home now.
Thanks for posting the photos of it.

My wife bought me one when I was discharged out of the Army. Actually
a couple of years later about 1959. Had a few people mess with it then
I took it to Gunsmith Mr. Madora out of Philadelphia. He made it shoot
inside the 10 ring at 50 yards. It has the sweetest trigger ever.
