Hey folks I've a possibly stupid question! as far as Glock goodies go do I need to worry about the Gen? I know people are talking badly about the Gen 4 pistols but if I have a Gen 2 or Gen 3 parts should interchange correct? Later,

Yes. Certain parts cannot interchange between models, but you shouldn't have to deal with that unless you get too "crazy".

I've got beer and a dremel!

I was just thinking playing with one before I dove into something nice! pretty much see what I can do with one and like all smart people I like to have the chance to replace things if need be ??? Later,

Parts are cheap. I've been thinking about changing the sear engagement, but it seems like a bad idea. I believe the internal parts are surface hardened under the plating, and I'm not quite set up for case-hardening at the moment, even though it's really cheap and easy to do.

If I remember correctly, between gen 2 and gen 3 they added another pin above the trigger. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

When I got my gen 3 glock 19 it only had the 1 pin above the trigger and I was told that was odd because the 3rd are supposed to have the extra pin.

See I thought the G22 all had 3 pins but what do I know I'm asking questions LOL I recall they added something to the internals so they could chamber the 357 Sig in the G22's sometime or another. This is just going to be a project as some very nice guy on this site let me borrow thier G24 and I'm hooked! BUT before I did into a G24 I'd like to play a little with something before getting stupid with a G24. I figure either way I shouldn't get hurt too bad buying this pistol and the parts are pretty reasonable. I know it's not a 2011 but it fits my poor single working guy budget and hey if you never try you'll never know. Later,

If you want to do a bunch of reading go over to the Enos forum. Those guys probably have a list of changes by date. The gen 4 guns have new design changes that dissallow u to use several gen 3 aftermarket parts.

I have both gen3 and gen 4 Glocks. I have had no complaints with my gen 4. Then again. I am just a plinker that likes to shoot targets.

Lance Jensen was using a gen 4 at the AP1 course. He said it was more accurate than his past gen models.

I've been hangin out over on Beno's checking out things and yes I have gotten some crazy answers about Glocks, the Gen levels, what changed lots of info for sure! even a few offering what NOT to do :-)

Most of the stuff I want to do has nothing to do with internals but I just like to tinker BUT not on stuff I rely on like my carry pistol. Later,

Kirk
