OK! So I have decided to give up on my XD, and trick out my Glock 34 Gen 4. I have already thrown in a new guide rod and guide rod spring, added some dawson precision sights (of course!), and threw a drop in trigger as well as reduced power springs. Only looking for a couple more additions. Would really like to put an extended mag release and a magwell in but I am having a terrible time finding these two options compatible with the Gen 4's.....Any help and where to locate them?? I am also a novice gunsmith, so I prefer to put everything on myself, or at least try ;) which is why i'm looking for somewhere to purchase them from as opposed to sending them to one of the many talented gunsmiths to do one for me. Any idea's? Thanks!

Tony stocks the JP Magwell and it is a direct fit for GEN 4..no mods necessary, less than 10mins to install

Thank you Tony!

I always used the JP extended mag buttons in my Gen 3 guns but I'm not sure if they have made one for the gen 4's yet.

That is what is in the pic..it has the grooves cut into the plug..it is a snug fit..i just lined it up and tapped it in with a rubber mallet Tues. That is a Gen 4-17, not a 34..so I am not sure, but I think they are the same? The same part number from midway looks different and it says it won't fit a Gen 4 on midway's sight..the one on Tony's sight looks different..

Yeah, I am a little puzzled as well. I don't really want to buy the thing if it isn't going to fit. I havn't checked the site that you referred me to, but everywhere else that I have looked says that it will not fit the Gen 4. Not really sure what is so different in the Gen 4's though. Guess I need to do a little research to see if maybe I can modify it a little to fit my 34...who knows!

From what I can tell, the only difference in the Gen 4's opposed to the Gen 3's is the backstrap, grip texture, and recoil guide rod assembly (which is COMPLETELY different). But I think I have found a remedy.......guess I will just have a buy a Gen 3 Glock 35, and trick it out a little....dang, I hate it when I HAVE to buy new guns.... ;)

The Gen 4 release doesn't look like it has as much meat to drill and tap for the JP release, but it also doesn't look like that would be a bad idea to try it. You could drill it and tap it yourself, or lacking a tap, file three flats on the very bottom threads of the screw to make it a self-tapping screw, and use some Loctite.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing! I'm currently overseas, but when I get home, I will probably try to figure something out.

I know SJC makes some extended magazine releases and nice mag wells. Also look up B&B Enterprise or Carver. They have some nice things. I'm thinking about buying like a sight mount one day plus a mag well and mabey a comp for a Glock 22 once I get better in things like Open or Limited.
