Glock G20SF Pros/Cons

 Wow, just got back from putting 100 rounds of 220 grain buffalo bore down range with a 20SF! Range said that your generally not supposed to run lead through a stock Glock barrel, but it was the only full power load they had there and he said it was fine. Anyhow, I can't say it was anymore painful than a compact .40 S&W! I'm going to put one on order right now.
Thanks for your feedback, and any other pointers are very welcome.

I recently purchased a 29sf and I agree whole heartedly with you. I took the 29 and my 27 and the 29 was actually a little more controllable than my 27. Its my first 10mm and is now my edc. Love it!

I think that if enough people buy a 10mm the market will get better! I just bought reloading dies/components because ammo is so unreasonable! Especially when the only difference is the brass and powder charge from .40 s&w.

Umm... Be careful. AFAIK, Glock strongly discourages using reloads in their barrels to the point of voiding the warranty as they have a tendency to go boom. Something about a tighter than normal chamber.

I also have a G20 (Gen 2) and considered reloading for it, but I decided otherwise. Yeah, sucks that ammo is hard to find but not worth losing a hand or finger.

Side note: Unfortunately 10mm is probably never going to be any more popular. Yes, it's great. So is 6.8 SPC. Betamax was also technically a better format than VHS. (God, I'm getting old to remember that).

Never had a problem with reloads in my Glock 30. I was just sure to use a bullet like Berrys or a jacketed bullet. If I was going to use lead I would purchase another barrel from someone. Then there would be no problem with using cast lead bullets. The savings would pay for the barrel, especially with a 10mm. As far as Kabooms, most from what I remember were with 40S&W and an unsupported chamber. Plenty on info on the Glock Forum. No problems with reloads if they are done to prescribed reloading methods and workups.

Reloads are just about all I shoot in my G20. Heaven forbid I'll even shoot a couple mags of lead thru her too!
The 10mm is easy to load for - you can run 'um from mild to wild and the big Glock seems takes it all in stride.
The ten mil really shines in a carbine where you can achieve a nice boost in velocity.

Want to boost your .40? Howzabout .357 Sig? Now don't .40 S&W, 10mm, and .357 Sig all use the same Glock mag? Simple barrel change? Never looked into it but it sounds fun (as long as you don't get mixed up).

I'd love to see a carbine kit like my .45 ACP for the Mauser in 10mm. That would be a handy little rifle... that or a lever action.

I have purchased a new G20sf and love it. I am currently reloading for it and am in the market for a aftermarket barrel for the lead. I will say this, I am 6'-1" and 190lbs and this gun conceals wonderfully! It is now my new EDC. There is something to be said for 16 rounds of full power 10mm at your fingertips!
