Glock Drum by SMG Tactical... Pro-Mag It's Not

Sorry, but I may have interpreted some responses as hostile..............What ever views each of us has is our right and I guess that I don't seem to fit into many individuals view of what they consider acceptable.....I came here because I thought of you folks as neighbors that I might meet FTF, I did not come here to fight and defend every thing I might post however stupid you may think it is............These are only words, views, and ideas.....In person, you might not find me so objectionable....................................................................Perhaps my presentation is not what I intend; I don't know, but I mean no ill will.

I am at the point of leaving this forum......I just came here for fun not conflict.......Being referred to as an idiot or coward for my feelings is not encouraging.........

I am now going to ATP gun range and punch holes into silhouette targets with my S&W 2206...(hands, heads, center of mass, ect) If one of you were near by I would invite you to join me as my guest.

I was going to post pics of a large raptor that seems to have made my back yard it's head quarters much to our concern because we have a 14 pound Rat Terrier that might get ate.

I will make a decision about staying on this forum later tonight after I have uploaded the raptor pics to photobucket.

Dan, I apologize if any of us have come across as not respecting your opinions. Everyone is free to think as they wish, and I believe we should all be mindful of that.

Sometimes it is difficult to interpret how someone meant to say something over the internet, since there is no inflection or visual cues to help us along. I hope you do stick around, but understand if you feel this isn't the place for you. Hopefully it is; there truly are some wonderful folks worth knowing.

Let's make peace, y'all. :D

Dan01...

The main reason most folks on here are giving you grief is terminology. Now, hear me out... I'm not saying this to be adversarial, but to explain.

Those of us who have gotten our CWP,those who deal with the law on a daily basis, LE, etc, have been trained in "how to talk about shooting". Legally speaking, the exact wording of a comment has huge legal import. The difference between a justified castle doctrine shooting and murder 2 or voluntary manslaughter is a thin margin that can revolve around what was said, not what was meant.

I can darn near guarantee that if you tell the responding officer that you aimed to wound, you are getting arrested, and that statement would be used against you in the wrongful death civil suit the perp or his family would bring.

This legal view of the words spoken is in direct conflict with morality. Of course, no one in their right mind wants to kill another person. Assuming you had the supreme skill to shoot with standard accuracy in a defensive shooting situation, of course you'd rather shoot the gun out of his hand, or shoot his leg to stop him chasing you. But the law allows one thing only- shooting to center mass until the threat ceases, whether from discouragement, incapacitation, or death, when you're in immediate danger of great bodily harm or death. These particular words have great import to the shooter's future as a free man or a felon.

Rotarymike..C-Carson............I appreciate the comebacks....I have given these matters some thought and I have decided to refrain from controversial subjects.....I will continue to enjoy the forum, but indulge only in the fun aspects......I love shooting, fishing, and some hunting when ever I am able to do them.

I gave to my son or sold all my 5.56x45 and 7.62x39 weapons and ammo and began collecting the 22 cal military clones.........I have a few pistols, rifles, and shot guns that are not out of the ordinary.....................I have a 9mm pistol and 38 cal revolver in the house in strategic locations for defensive purposes....I hope to never have occasion to use them.

As far as the Glock drum goes...even if it's a high quality drum, I can assure you that product is not for me. I don't want to take my 21 ounce pistol and add 3 pounds of ammo and magazine to it. I'm sure someone, somewhere, has a use for it (even if it's just the tacticool factor), but I will put that $70 towards a few 15 round Glock mags.

This next part is off-topic...I'm trying to do a good thing but mods please administer ownage if I'm out of line.
Dan, don't leave the forums. Give it some time, see how things operate. The regulars on here are a good group of people. I've met with and put rounds down range with a couple of them.

My point is, words sound different in one's mind and when they are typed, and how they sound to the writer may not necessarily dictate how the reader will perceive them. I misunderstood a post you made a few days back; another member pointed out my mistake and I apologized for it. But like I said, no one is targeting you for personal reasons or about how you shoot, it was the "why"; the issue was with the laws regarding self defense shootings and your wording. RotaryMike did a great job summarizing what everyone else was trying to get across. They just don't want to see you in legal trouble if you find yourself in a self defense situation where you need to protect yourself but can't bring yourself to ending a life. Taking a life is a HUGE thing. Huge. That's why when you train for self defense, you have to train with that in mind; that you are more than likely ending someone's life to save yourself or a loved one.

This was my original post that started the whole thing.
"I have a nice Astra A 70 with two 8 round mags....I can put 90% of my bullets into the center of a standard silhouette at 12 feet and just a few seconds.....That is all I need..........It is also very unlikely that an assailant will have time to react while I pull and fire................I also practice at wounding such as shooting at hands, knees, shoulders, ect.....................................With my S&W 2206 I can completely shred a hand at 75 feet.............I don't need snail drum mags.dan01

I said that I could put most of my shots into the center of a silhouette which to me indicates that I practice for fatality and in other posts I said I would shoot to kill when needed..........I practice at wounding just to sharpen my marksmanship, but whether I would actually prefer to wound rather than kill is just for me...I did not try to convince anyone to do either.....In any case this is all that I will say on the matter....

I intend to continue on the forum....11B3xCIB thank you......I will do more reading and watch what and how I express myself.....

I would like to see the CCW holster for the Glock and drum mag and I ponder where in h*ll one would put it.
