Hey guys, I am not sure what category to put this in so I am just putting it here. What is the benefits of a Glock 35 compared to a Glock 22 on a competitive standpoint? I ask because I am going to start shooting some pistol competitions soon, and I currently have (2) Glock 22's. I have a guy that wants to make a even swap for his Glock 35. I have no experience with that model. I see alot of people shooting those. but I don't know why. I am thinking it would be a good idea to swap, but I kinda like having twins, and if it will not benefit me any I will just keep both of my G22's

Thanks for the help guys,

Justin

The benfit of the 35 over the 22 is a longer sight radius. Make the Swap! The 35 brings a $50-100 premium over the 22 in the classifieds. The G34 and G35 are the most popular polymer guns in USPSA and 3 gun.

Here is what a top of the line competition G35 looks like. Add a few Dawson Precision magazine extensions and you are ready for Limited Division and 3 gun.

My glock 24 6" gun's top end weighed 23.1 oz and my G35 weighed 20.8 oz. One would assume that the same relationship would hold true for reducing the same inch of gun down to 4". So the G22 top end is probably in the 17-18 oz range. A G17 top end weighs about 17 oz.

I could tell a difference between my G35 & G24 with the G24 being slower. I stuck with the G35 because that is what obese used too. You may like your G22 better especially since you shoot several thousand rounds a month through it.

Yeah I love my G22, I do shoot it alot, but I am anything but a good shot. I normally just shoot at old cans, or I just go out and dump a mag to relieve stress. I actually just got inside from bump-firing a mag through my AK. I have a feeling that my BS shooting is going to slow way down. If I am actually able to get into competitions, I would rather save my money for them
