Looking into making my wifes gen 3 19 slide a little easier for her to pull back slide. Stock captive spring is 18 # looking into a non captive rod to change springs, any comments... Larry

Buy an 11 lbs or 13 lbs ISMI spring and guide rod. Or just buy the spring, unthread the old one from the stock guide rod, and thread the new one on.

Like Mitch said buy an ISMI guide rod and a few 15, 13, and 11 pound springs and see how each feels for her.
