I currently have a Glock 17 that I have been carrying for about a month now. I really like it compared to that turd Ruger thing I had been carrying. The one thing I don't like is that my hands don't fit it well. So I am thinking about getting an M&P 9 with the different gripp attachments to see if it will fit my hand better.

I am curious as to what model M&P to get. I carry the Glock in a kydex belt holster OWB. I will likely carry the M&P the same way. I have also been shooting the great carry gun matches at Heartland Outdoors so keep that in mind too.

Thanks for your input.

not sure exactly what you mean by what model... if you are going to shoot the matches, i would stick with the 9mm and obviously the smaller the gun is the harder it is to aim... does that answer your question? if not explain further...

I'm thinking the 4" model would be good but that 5" pro series is nice too. Depends how much carry vs. competiton shooting you plan to do.

I know its not what you listed, but since you like your Glock 17 have you considered getting a new Gen4 Glock 17? They come with the changeable backstraps, so maybe one of those might fit you better?

The M&P feels much better in the hand than a stock Glock. BUT, you could have the grip altered and shaped, in lieu of buying a different gun. I roll with a G17 with a grip reduction, rounding, undercutting, and stippling. Now it's like a holding an M&P grip shape, but feels more painted to my hand. Mine was done by its previous owner, but you can pay Mike @ Accurate Iron. His prices are very fair, and listed on his website.
