The white Morgan Freeman
I've thought about posting this for a while. During the High Plains rifle match, I noticed I was still behaving as if I were getting recoil from my rifle. Several weeks ago I installed a SJC/Lund Titan compensator, and now experience virtually nothing in the way of recoil from the carbine. Yet, during the match I found myself realigning for every shot, as if recovering from recoil. I didn't realize what I was doing until the last stage, which I ran very quickly after dealing with a mag holding my bolt open. All my shots on that stage were one-two shots, without checking the sights in between, and they were all tightly grouped. Previous to that stage, my shots were all grouped around 5" on average, some more and some less. All because I spent time habitually recovering and jumping my second shot. This also slowed my average stage time down to "really awful".
As an aside, it's irritating having to break bad habits I've formed while learning to shoot effectively. Turrrrrrrible.
