Getting Sponsored?

Be at least decent at shooting, work the buddy system, or apply for the job in the rare case that a company asks for people to sponsor. Or even more likely try and get all three happening in unison, that seems to be the most common route. Being sponsored does not mean you'll be lauded with cash or valuable benefits. It means you wear a name that isn't yours.

God I love Oreos. I was at a club level USPSA match and one of the guys made a comment about how he doesn't see enough B zone hits, so I said I'd do all head shots since I wasn't going to win anyway. One other guy bet me a Twinkie I wouldn't. 11 targets and 22 head shots later, I told him to pay up. He still hasn't given me that Twinkie. They should do Oreos with Twinkie cream.

I would love to get sponsored as a shooter, but my skills are nowhere near the level they need to be. Unfortunately, currently my financial situation leaves me in a position where I cannot afford to practice as much as I need to be. And since my employer doesn't believe in ARMED security getting them to sponsor me is out of the question.

I'm in the same boat as a junior shooter. My dad doesn't have enough time to take me to the range as much as I would like to and seeing as though i dont have a job it takes awhile to save up for gear. So I'll probably start pursuing my dream of being a sponsored shooter when I'm in college and out of CA.

Companies love to help Juniors. Don't wait. Make up a good proposal letter, start a shooting page fur yourself on facebook and a YouTube channel and start posting some pics and videos of you shooting and/or doing gun reviews and such. Send your proposal to companies you're intetested in. Worst thing they can do is say no

Good luck!

Oh and come shoot the Generation III Gun Championship with us in September.

We should design and build a site like sponsorhouse for shooting sports. That's how I got some good breaks in my XC racing days.
