So many people, on both sides of "guilt" or criminal culpability, keep saying that George Zimmerman shouldn't have gotten out of the car. Some of these people admit that he broke no law but reiterate that he shouldn't have ever gotten out of the car.

Then there are people that say he isn't a hero or shouldn't be lauded for his actions and that the whole event was a terrible situation with unfortunate results.

Those people are scum.

George Zimmerman is a hero. He took personal responsibility for the safety of his neighborhood and was proactive about defending it. When attacked with deadly force he responded with the same level of deadly force and he overcame a stronger, faster, bigger target that had already placed him in a losing position.

The man did a great job. His only failing is that he isn't articulate and that his attorneys weren't able to keep his mouth shut.

If I ever meet this man I swear I am taking him and his entire family to whichever restaurant they want. He deserves a medal and this country needs more men like him.

Good riddance to the violent criminal piece of subhuman filth, Trayvon Martin. Good thing he wasn't able to breed yet!

This is a good lesson for everyone with a CCW. DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE. EVER.

The only things you say when the cops show up are, "Officer, I was in fear for my life. That witness right there saw it all. Key evidence is right there behind that bush. I will fully cooperate with the investigation once I've talked to my attorney. I want medical care and I want to talk to an attorney."

And then you shut the heck up. There is nothing you can say to the police that will improve your situation. You will be arrested and you will go to jail; the goal is to get out ASAP, which means STFU until the lawyer shows up.
