I don't want to be off topic, so I'm creating a discussion about generals.

I think Erwin Rommel was a pretty cool guy. He killed auslanders and doesn't afraid of anything.

I like Tr?n H?ng ??o

"Under his command, Dai Viet (currently Vietnam) armies defeated 2 major Mongolian Invasions in 1285 and 1287. His victories over the mighty Mongol Yuan Dynasty under Kublai Khan are considerably the greatest military feats in world history with strategies of protracted people's war."

Given his head and allowed to run free of Hitler's tight reins Rommell may have changed the course of history. As a tactition he was borderline genus.

No "borderline" about it. His exploits are required reading in the US Army.

Agreed. "Patton and Rommel: Men of War in the Twentieth Century" was/is one of my all time favorite reads.

He was better with smaller unit actions, but was a strategical nightmare otherwise. Spent so much time running around the battlefield taking personal charge of his troops that his HQ could never reach him. Too easy to lose sight of the big picture that way. The man was a true genius at a divisional level and smaller, especially in the low countries and France. Anybody else out there have his post-WWI book Infanterie Greift An, or Infantry Attacks?

Lieutenant General Lewis "Chesty" Puller for being the baddest mofo in Marine Corps history.
?All right, they?re on our left, they?re on our right, they?re in front of us, they?re behind us?they can?t get away this time.?
