Just speaking for myself, but in my stage of this game, I'm in for the camaraderie, and personal fun. Still get upset if not doing well on a stage, but get over it quickly.
A few years ago, there would have been no limit on what $$ were spent to buy and train to win. Been down that road in other types of competition.
For the new folks, look at it as having fun getting better. Every match you shoot you will get better. Try to squad with the best shooters out there. Don't be afraid to ask if you can join their squad. Squadding with people at the same level of shooting does you no good. You don't learn anything but the others mistakes.
Yes they will be better than you, but they will also offer advice and help with what can make you a better shooter. You can see their strategy's to shave seconds off your times, and try to emulate them to your advantage. Don't be afraid to ask an experienced shooter how they think the best way to shoot a stage would be. Watch and learn.
