Full Auto M16

Put up a picture of it! Why haven't you Form 1'd it into a Short Barrel Rifle? That's all they're good for!

You're right about the SBR thing cause SP89's suck as a pistol. However that's the beauty of a registered pack you don't need to buy more tax stamps to put stocks your pistols.

Oh, you have a registered sear pack? Well, sir, why didn't you say so?

Say... you wouldn't like to go shooting someday, would you? :D

I'm sure I could find some way to bribe you into letting me borrow that sear pack for 10 or 15 minutes so I can see how my MP5K-PDW handles in auto.

I guess you missed this thread: http://www.palmettoshootersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1639

Bring the 'lil Coharie to ShootzenFest there should be a couple of FA packs there. The only issue might be finding a SEF lower that fits your CA gun.

Yeah, I saw that and I don't think we'll be able to attend, unfortunately. There is a small chance we will be able to make it, though, but not high enough for me to say "I WILL BE THERE AND THIS IS WHAT I WILL BRING"

It does sound like fun, though, and I'm always up for making new friends, especially gun people!

Well after the longest wait in my life the form 3 finally got approved by ATF and as per clicker the sear is shipping out today. I see a range trip in my future. I find it so funny how different ATF inspectors can make a difference in 6 days to get approved or 4.5 months. In my case 4.5 months. Just about two weeks ago I had a AWC badlander bought, paid for, and delivered to me in less than 7 days. That inspector has her elephant dung together on that form 3.

The best thing about this is I will finally be able to beat on a M16 other than mine!

Teaser note: I know someone with an available post sample HK trigger pack!

LOL You read my mind. I almost posted earlier that you needed to find me a HK trigger pack.

How Much? I am ready. I haven't bugged my major in a few months so I'm sure he will sign off on it.

Well the sear came in today and I got it all assembled. Took it to my buddies house this evening and the first two full auto mags went off good. Then all hell broke loose and it wont fire full auto. After talking to clicker and Phillip at innovative arms I thing the timing is off. Phillip says its a five minute fix so I'm going up on tue or wed to get this thing running.

Well...It looks bad asses...anyway...

You will get the bugs out of it soon...Then you will have to figure new ways to get ammo...

Steve

Well I want to say thinks to all the guys at boggy head today that brought my DIAS back to life. 2 hours of hard trouble shooting literally. Thanks to clicker and his buds and fordnut. Clicker finally figured it out that it was a bad lower receiver. Lesson learned...SPIKES TACTICAL SUCKS!!! I have a LWRC lower on its way in a few hours. Maybe for a semi gun they are ok but the QC on the one I got was terrible....1. The front pivot pin spring hole was milled 1/4" too short and I had to trim the spring to get it to fit. 2. the buffer tube threads on the receiver were all kind of wacked out and I had to force my buffer tube into it. 3. The shelf was about a 1/16" too low causing the sear to fall premature. Spikes said it was a low shelf they need to check again. LWRC and Bushmaster fit perfect with no play....Well thats my two cents and hopefully we will be back in business in about a week.

Thanks for the pat on the back Henry. Like you said it was a group effort that figured this thing out. Big attaboy goes out to M16MANIAC (and his brother) for helping me troubleshoot and providing a donor lower for us to test drive.

He is still without a computer or I'm sure Ken would chime in here.

Give up some love for that 22LR conversion kit in FA too!

Dave.....Good news! I came home and checked the PSA lower I had from 6 months ago to some I had in the safe for customers...Totally different. PSA has changed from a low shelf to a high shelf and that piece of metal that sticks out far on the right to snug up the auto sear is also present on my PSA but the new ones that look like fordnuts and the spikes which is milled slick on both sides. I changed everything over to the PSA lower and everything fit super snug like a glove and its flush. I think we are good. I have two appts tomorrow but I will be at the range at 5 and will let you know. I also wrote the General Manager of spikes tactical an email expressing my concern.

Yes the .22 FA Upper is the next Purchase Order for the business. Then after that a HK Trigger pack and then I'm going to push my luck and ask for a demo letter for a 249 Saw. LOL I cant wait to see my Majors face when I ask for that.

If I remember correctly, the lowers that PSA was selling at that time were Aero Precsion lowers that came as a low shelf or a high shelf configuration. You had to choose between the pictogram or the Safe/fire label. The pictogram was the one that the full auto sear would fit in.I think it was the low shelf model. I remember because I thought if ever I got a wild hair I might want that capability.
Glad you got that 'gnarlly' 8-) looking piece running.
Dave

P.S. This is the reason I enjoy this forum so much.... Friendship, Cooperation, Respect and Fun.

That's indeed great news Henry. I know you feel a sense of relief. Hope it works I'll be looking forward to your range report tonight.
If you want to run a 9mm set up we can mill some material off the lug of my upper to fit the DIAS and you can borrow it anytime.

Well its official!! I quit. I should have known I would have the one bad apple. Its going to Phillip at innovative arms on Wed. I spent most of the day at the range today with two different lowers and nothing would shoot FA. Clicker was even nice enough to let me use his very expensive pre ban bushmaster. Still nothing. I talked to phillip tonight and he swears he will have it running in 5 minutes no matter what lower I want to use.... Time will def tell. I cant wait to figure this one out. I love a good challenge but this one drove me to drink a few stiff drinks at dinner tonight.

I'm gonna bet that last post will get revised very soon to reflect a more positive outlook! Henry is not a quitter.

Ok ok...Well I went to innovative arms and we tried about 50 different things "except a fixed stock" and spent 5 hours working on it and nothing....So frustrated I came home ready to melt the sear down to a block of aluminum. I got on AR15.com and posted my problem....Within an hour I had 6 replies saying bolt bounce. For shits and giggles I put on a fixed stock and the suppressor and did a 30 round mag dump. Problem solved....I am going to order a VLTOR A5 stock. Looks pretty cool and it is the longer length I need.

A special thanks goes out to Clicker for his support and the use of his parts since Sunday to get this thing running. Also I must admit Clicker said "bolt bounce" from the very beginning but we never did anything to test the theory.
