Anyone on here own one? Pros and Cons? After cramming all our gear in the G8 GT and driving to Grand Island last weekend, I think we need a bigger vehicle that still gets decent mileage. I own a truck and was thinking about getting an FX4 Super Crew. I have always been a General Motors guy up until the "Buy Out".

If you own one, what kind of mileage are you seeing on the highway and in town? We are currently averaging 23 mpg in the V8 car and it has to be close to this to replace the Pontiac tire roaster.

I've got one. 2012 Platinum 4dr 4wd. It runs great. I have a Livernois chip in it. I can smoke Hemi's or Ford's own 6.2. I can get 21-22 if I drive it easy. It will NOT get 20 if you are running 80. More like 18. Pulling my boat, running 80-85, I got 12. It's better on gas than any V8 I've had (my dad had a 3v 4.6 Ford that would beat it mpg) but it runs way better than any stock V8 too. I really, really like it.

Get It I wish I had. Ive got a 2013 FX4 Crewcab with a 5.0L I only get 18 on the highway.
you get the nice new HID projector headlights too? I like the "murdered out" look with the black lights and grill.

Does that chip cancel the factory warranty? I have been wondering if you can uncork these things or not.

Oh, I'm sure it does. I waited a whole 3000 miles before I put it on there. Haha! Going from a modded out diesel and a 750 RWHP lightning to a stock truck just wasnt cutting it. These ecoboost really respond to mods. The chip gains are crazy. If you get one, don't chip it with anything else except a Livernois.

I own a 2011 eco had it for 2 years now runs great, 14-15 in town about 18 mpg running 80 between okc and lawton can get up to 21-22 running on flat roads at about 70 mph. Compare to my chevy 6.0 3/4 ton it got about 13-14 on highway and about 9-10 in town. With the eco boost motor i think ford findley has the best half ton motor in there pickups. And let me say this i am not a chevy guy or a ford guy or dodge guy i buy whatever product i like. I am looking forward to see what GM counters with there new half ton pickup there coming out with because they are behind in my humble opinion.

Well, now it looks like I have to decide if I want the FX4, King Ranch or Lariat options. I am thinking FX4 for the blacked out look.

I bought the lariat xlt with the crome pkg. I like the platinum but that painted silver grill (platinum) color just look cheep to me. But the leather and interior on the lariat and the king ranch and platinum is so much nicer than the other trucks i think.

You guys are makin me cry. '06 F150 4X4, 5.4L, true duals, Maganaflow DIDO and an Injen CAI.

I get 17 if I drive 55 to 60 and there are no hills or wind. Lock the cruze at 80 and I'll get 12.5 to 13 if I'm lucky. :(

I was looking the other day at the ford lot where I work sometimes and those 4x4 truck that you are talking about start at 52,000!!! The fords are the most Expensive trucks on the market right now.

Sticker on mine was $54,000. It was as loaded as they make them. I bought it for $42,000. Maybe Ford is willing to deal more than other makes. I know Toyota is notorious for not coming down off of list.

What I'm going to do is put a dual fuel CNG conversion on it. The pump by my house is $0.78 per gallon right now. I like this '06 better than the newer one's, my BIL has a '07 Platinum and he doesn't have as much ground clearance, both are stock suspensions. Mine only has 70K miles on it, so I'm going to hang with it awhile before I take on another loan payment. My opinion is that a new EcoBoost with CNG would be the ultimate setup.

With the Ecoboost being boosted, I don't know that you can run CNG.
No problem with that at all. There is a company out of Ohio that has a system out for them, but I've only heard from people on the CNG forum that I frequent that actually claim to have them being in Canada. From what I can tell we can thank our own EPA for that.

The DI fuel system isn't altered at all. Only the fuel injectors are switched off and the added CNG injectors switched on. And the CNG system doesn't shut down and switch back to gas until your CNG tank is down to 200psi, so there should be plenty of injection pressure. This system has 8 injectors with 6 sequential injectors being in the intake plenum just above the intake valve for each cylinder plus two fogger injectors just downstream from the throttle plate for when running with boost.

Just did some sunday window shopping at the loacl ford dealer. I can get the Ford X plan pricing through my employer. I attemped to price one back in January with the X plan and I was given an estimate of $42000. I then started looking online and found that the same truck was selling for $42000. I am wondering if that stealership wasn't just giving me the incentive pricing and not the X plan.

Test drove some today. Looks like I am getting ready to drop the hammer on the black FX4. With x plan and rebates, I can get it for just under 40k. Has most of the options I want (just doesn't have the extra FX appearance package with the black 20" wheels and door decals.)

Do the leveling kits for the front knock out the mpg?

x-plan is the shiznit

since you can't get mazdas on x-plan anymore I might have to go full okie and get a ford truck when I grow up
