Flagpole

We have been contemplating installing a flagpole for Old Glory on our acreage. Has anyone built their own? What did you use? Details are appreciated. Height? Base? Topper?

I've got an old telephone pole siting on my property that I was looking at today thinking about using it to make my flag pole.

I just used an old piece of pipe.

Depending how big you want it I would try some old oil field pipe. There are a lot of places around that have casing (3-10 in). Spray paint and you good to go. My dad made a basketball goal for me when I was younger, worked great.
