I think I might have built the first one... Picked up a barrel from Doctor JJ tonight. Drove an hour and a half each way but I was determined to build this sucker tonight.

Boomer Shooter stripped lower
PSA stripped upper
Magpul MOE rifle stock
UCWRG grip stipple by myself
AP Customs 15" handguard
Satern 18" rifle fluted barrel (get one from Doctor JJ while you can!)
Seekins Precision gas block
Geissele SD-3G trigger
BCM BCG
BCM Gunfighter ambi charging handle
Rolling Thunder comp
Primary Arms Micro Dot

I test fired it today and got a rough sight in, though only at 50 yards. I've never had an adjustable gas block before. I turned it down until it failed to strip a round once from the mag and then turned it out half a turn. I was running bulk .223 Federal. It ran great.

The brake seems to work very well. I think most of the movement of the dot when I fire is due to the bolt going into battery. Fast double taps yielded all shots into a 3" circle at 15 yards.

Should I drop a little Loctite on the set screws holding the gas block on as well as the adjustment screws?

yes, blue

You need to open the gas block until it lock the bolt back on the last round with some cream Puff ammo like PMC. Then guve it another half turn. Then stick your rifle and ammo in the fridge and get it down to about 40 degrees and see if it still locks back. I've had two guns go single shot in sub 50 temps when I set the gas at 80-100 degrees.

Depending on the powder you use this is correct.

Some powder gains or looses velocity when shot at cold/hot temps.

You don't have to refrigerate your gun and ammo but I thought you should know what pitfalls await the adjustable gas block. It's burned me twice in big matches.
