I've been Googling around for a few days looking at, among other things, discussions on .44 Magnum lever action rifles and SA revolvers. I've noticed that quite a few posts discussing western style firearms contain words and phrases like "pardner", "I reckon", "y'all", "right nice", etc. In other words, lots of these posts use language like you would hear or read in a western movie or a western novel. Out of curiosity I searched many of the screen names making the remarks on the boards where they were written and posts on other non-western topics were completely different, using 'normal' language. I do the same thing. Lots of times when I think about a thumb-buster I kind of get into this cowboy frame of mind and talk accordingly.

I wonder if the same holds true for other firearm genres.
